FWIW, a co-worker of mine was pissed that VCU got the NIT snub.

So some people do care about this thing.

If the NIT is Nobody's Interested, how do these other tournaments get people interested? VCU is in either the CBI or the CIT or the WIFJR or the JKL: Not sure which. Can't believe anyone cares.

Still a smaller % of the overall amount of D1 hoops teams in the postseason than in football.

If your school is a mid-major, bitching about not making the NIT is legit.

    Otherwise, it's just embarrassing.

    Noted.

For long-distance alums, the NIT does provide one last opportunity to see your school on national television. But it's certainly nothing to brag about, or whine about when your school is left out. As much as you may want to. Because it's been like a decade since you saw post season play.

Just saw that UNC is dusting off Carmichael Auditorium for its game against William & Mary. It'll be the first men's game in there since '86.

Should make for a cool atmosphere for an NIT game; certainly better than a half-empty Dean Dome. I probably wouldn't go otherwise, but getting a chance to see a men's game in Carmichael is enough to pique my interest.
