Study: Sports fans get drunk at games

The Department of Duh apparently isn't part of any budget cuts.

But this is also why I'm probably not going to take my son to an NFL game until he's in his teens.

The in-game experience is miserable for any responsible parents wanting to take a kid under 10 to a game.

I can handle a college game and the drunk kids - that leads to us talking about appropriate behavior and what I'd hope he is like at 19. But when you have drunk 45-year-old men in the parking lot a half of a beer from picking fights with tailgaters...um... I'll stay at home, where it's home and watch the games on TV.

 

Quit whining and just turn pro then.

Don't forget the Kentucky Derby, when all the local twentysomething ex-frat boys get blind drunk and lose all their money, while their girlfriends/wives amuse each other and look at their significant others, dolefully.

 

I miss the days when sports writers got drunk at games (without hiding it).

If you don't tailgate, how can you afford to get drunk on $8 Bud Lights?

 

No! Really? I think I sat next to a drunk guy while covering a high school hockey game. Kept on screaming at the goalie for no apparent reason.
