That was the place where Larry, the 52-year-old former Marine, tried hitting on me at 2 a.m. He told me he'd go get me a hamburger. I told him not to bother. He went anyway. Returned at 3 a.m. with a single hamburger, and in the bag were 15-20 packets of strawberry jelly.

 

I really have to start saving these candidates for Post of the Year.

 

Those 2 months at the Pleasure Palace provided me much fodder. Got to see things from the midnight-to-6 a.m. shift that are burned in my mind for life. Might be one of the reasons I'm attracted to the seedy side of humanity.
