I have to agree with the plaintiff. She owns the blog and moderates it. If she can do that, then she ought to be smart enough to control malicious, libelous or slanderous content in the comments section. If she doesn't know or understand that aspect of journalism, well, that's just too damn bad then.

And a lot of people in town are going to that site, which I found unreadable. I'm from that town, it's a huge story back home.

Correct me if I am wrong, but there is also a similar scandal at Steubenville Catholic?

I think it's just Big Red. This is the only real substantive story I've seen in a newspaper, outside the local coverage.

High school football coach in Nowheresville, Ohio threatens New York Times reporter.

    How very insignificant of him.

    From Azrael's link:

Perhaps one quote, from one of Steubenville High's 19 football coaches, best summed up the controversy: "The rape was just an excuse, I think ...What else are you going to tell your parents when you come home drunk like that and after a night like that? She had to make up something. Now people are trying to blow up our football program because of it."

    Seriously?

There are many arguments - politics, entertainment, sports etc. - that make people turn into fools in this country.

But there is nothing that causes us to support deviant humanity like sports does.
