Stern: NBA wants to drop player costs by ONE-THIRD

    If Stern only wanted to decrease costs by 1/3 he should do away with the salary cap. The teams should pay the players whatever they want to, complete unrestricted capitalism. In 5-10 years only about 10 teams would be left and costs would be dramatically reduced.

    There is something wrong with a league where a player can be retired or working as an assistant coach and suddenly "unretire" just so he can be packaged in a deal to even out the salaries.
    There has to be a way for the NBA to address the salary dump.
