Thought it would be a lot worse than it was but after seeing video it seemed like pretty standard
fair. Order was restored fairly quickly. Penalty seems a tad harsh without knowing the full landscape.

Yeah, looked like a foul to me.

It's hard to tell, but it does look like it's just a hard foul that looks worse than it was because the gym is a band box and the kid gets flung into the wall.

Gee, ya think? That was sarcasm. Flagrant 2 all the way.

If this fight happened in December, the season-ban would seem way harsher than it does now. Indiana essentially gave them a two-week suspension. Griffith had four games left before playoffs and Hammond had three, according to Maxpreps. Assuming both teams are one-and-done in the playoffs, that is a five and four game ban, respectively. Not really that bad in the grand scheme of things.

Have to agree with Frantic on the Carmel thing. Most entitled, though?? Probably.

What Carmel incident / fight are you speaking of? Not a big fan of the IHSAA, but they're pretty d*mned consistent with these sort of incidents.

Still, that's a pretty significant penalty. And, considering the 2 schools involved (FW Southside & A-Tech), hardly fits your racial angle.....

    Griffith was 13-2, I believe. They probably weren't a 1 and done.
