MIAMI - A fugitive gunman accused of killing a Florida sheriff’s deputy was shot 68 times by SWAT team officers who found him hiding in the woods, according to autopsy results.

Police fired 110 shots at Angilo Freeland, 27, the target of a massive manhunt in central Florida following the shooting death of Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Williams Thursday.

“That’s all the bullets we had, or we would have shot him more,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel newspaper.

I'd be a little more worried that they missed 42 times. Pathetic.

 

I'm assuming that was sarcastic. After the first three dozen hits or so, I'm assuming he was finished.

It would have been nice to know, especially for the safety of their communities' residents, that they were a wee bit more accurate than 61.8 percent.
In other words, that they hit their target more than Shaq hits free throws.

 

The community's probably safer with a cop killer removed from it.

 

If it was indeed a manhunt, and SWAT members killed him, they were likely using automatic weapons. It is very, very hard to accurately engage targets with a fully automatic weapon.
