A mob beats a guy to death after the car he was in (but not driving)hits a kid (who had non-life-threatening injuries).
Seriously folks, whatever happened to just calling the police?

To be fair, I would never have thought to check the Juneteenth thread for a story like that.

Yeah, me either but I read it in there. The beating is a shame no matter where it is posted.

i remember something similar - actually it was pretty much identical - happened in chicago a few years ago. i think in chicago the mob actually pulled the driver out of the car in order to beat him to death.

this kind of thing is absolutely terrifying but it's also totally random. you could be driving around a quiet suburban street and hit a kid and no one will beat you to death. then you're driving around an urban area and you hit someone and you get beaten to death.

it's almost as random as just getting hit by a drunk driver, assuming it was a true accident that caused you do hit the kid.

near our shop, there was an accident a couple of weeks ago. kid, a basketball star, lost control of his car coming over a hill, hit a motorcycle in a police-escorted convoy. the kid wasn't speeding, wasn't drunk. it was an accident. killed two. another biker in the group had to be restrained from opening the kid's door. 'i wanted to beat the shit out of him,' said biker.

uh, yeah. cops already on scene, and it was clearly an accident, and you've got two friends fighting for their lives. first thought: get the kid! douche.

  7. It was Milwaukee, I think.
