Fantastic story by Adam Kilgore on Adam LaRoche and his 11-year-old son Drake.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/for-adam-laroche-nationals-spring-training-is-take-your-son-to-work-day-every-day/2013/02/25/5c313814-7f95-11e2-a350-49866afab584_story.html

Drake is at the park every day during spring training and most days during the season. What about school, you might ask?

“We’re not big on school,” LaRoche said. “I told my wife, ‘He’s going to learn a lot more useful information in the clubhouse than he will in the classroom, as far as life lessons.’ ”

He attends public school in Kansas during the winter and has a private tutor during spring training.

    Pretty awesome.

Yesterday Bruce Bochy called on his son Brett with one out and the bases loaded. It was the first time Bruce had an opportunity to bring his son into a game. Brett allowed a two-run double and a three-run homer to the first two batters.

Is there a rule limiting spring training games to nine innings now? Just wondering since the Giants have played ties over the last three days?

There have been extra inning games in Florida. Just a matter of when they decide they're out of pitchers. At 8-8, 8-8 and 9-9, I'm guessing one or the other team has run out fairly quickly.

Clubhouse leader for best "injury" of the spring:

    Gerry Fraley ‏@gfraley

Elvis Andrus not playing today for Rangers. New and elaborate tattoo caused ``sensitivity'' in left biceps.

Sounds like it may be a Cactus League thing, then.
