I'm referring to the banner ad atop this page. Click on and scroll down the epic-length ad, and it shows you where you can earn $72,000 a year by writing 20 articles a day for $10 apiece. Quick math shows that to be seven days a week.

    I start tomorrow.

What's the over-under on this thread getting busted because I'm busting the chops of an advertiser on this site. My apologies.

Now shaddup, I got some writing to do.

This won't get busted. But your patronage with a subscription would make Webby's day and get rid of those pesky ads :)

If it means anything, at least I clicked into the ad.

As the ad says, many times the rate is higher than $10 an article.

    What more could you want?

So how does $72,000 equal $1,000 a week?
Obviously, clutchcargo needs a math lesson.

Doing 20 articles a day for $10 apiece would be 1400 a week which comes out to $72,800 over 52 weeks. So someone's math is off, but it might be the ad's.

At $10 a story, they would not seem to be looking for compelling narratives.

The title of the ad mentions $1,000. However, a scenario in the ad mentions 20 articles a day at $10 apiece X 7 days a week, which works out to about $72,000.

    That's the math.

  10. could i take two days off, then write 60 articles the next day?

Just so you don't write on freelance furlough day.

Speaking of furloughs, are stockholders required to take furloughs on their dividends at the same time employees are taking furloughs?
