  1. I thought King's in Liberal was overrated.

Liberal even has Mike Hargrove coaching the Bee Jays now!

And Liberal was mentioned by Clark W. Griswald.

I just spent the weekend traveling throughout the entire state of Kansas for a wedding a Liberal. Somehow, it was my first trip there. It will undoubtedly be the last. Even relative to central/western Kansas, that place sucked.

I once knew a basketball coach who coached out there. He said his friends wanted to know if he was in the witness-protection program, because why else would he be in Liberal?

That is the only legitimate reason to go to Liberal.

King's was closed last time I passed through. The only time I ate there, it sucked. Roast beef, not real barbecue. Tough and semi-flavorless. I'm presuming they did a better job in the past.

Liberal is the asshole of Cowshitistan. Colby is a Willa Cather-esque Great Plains idyll compared to Liberal.

Can't do it, king. Looks like the place is closed for good, not just closed for the day.

EDIT: I don't know this for a fact, but it was mid-day on a weekday and not a car in the parking lot.

    Anyway, back to NW KS.

This thread is useless without a pic of...

Mount Sunflower, Highest Point in Kansas!

    and...the nearby Arikaree Breaks.
