    From jjobs-

Sauk Valley Media in northwestern Illinois is looking for a driven sports reporter with a strong work ethic and a love of high school sports. Our team covers local sports so well that we consistently win state and national awards. As part of that team, you would cover games, write feature stories, and design sports pages.

You would work with experienced editors and co-workers who are serious about teaching and leading. SVM publishes two daily newspapers: the Telegraph, in Dixon, and the Daily Gazette, in Sterling. We've been part of family-owned Shaw Media for more than 150 years and plan to continue producing outstanding newspapers – in print, online and beyond – for another 150.

Some professional experience preferred, but will accept candidates with an undergraduate degree and experience as an intern or with a college newspaper. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Shaw Media offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Send a cover letter that explains your interest in covering sports, along with a résumé and a list of references who will swear you're too good to pass up!
