The Daily Record in San Marcos, TX is looking for a go-getter to fill a part-time role in the sports department. The ideal candidate will cover preps, a growing FBS university (Texas State) and help out on the desk. Experience with InDesign/Quark is necessary. Preference will be given to those already within the immediate vicinity. Send your portfolio (links to clips, resume, etc.) to Sports Editor Tyler Mayforth at tmayforth@sanmarcosrecord.com. No phone calls, please.

If they drive 500 miles on the day they arrive, will they have to cover a baseball game that day, too?

Have to? No. If they want to, more power to him/her.
