    For anyone interested, my (pretty reliable) L.A. Times sources have informed me that Kevin Baxter of the Miami Herald got this job.

    Can anyone confirm?

    Jim Barrero, who not only speaks Spanish, but has written on soccer when he was at San Gabriel (as well as a buttload of other sports) is on staff as a deskie there. He'd of been perfect for this.
