The Lewistown News-Argus has an immediate opening for a full-time sports reporter.

The News-Argus is a twice-weekly community newspaper that has been serving Lewistown and eight surrounding communities for the past 135 years. Lewistown is a picturesque community of 6,000, surrounded by island mountain ranges and rich agricultural lands.

Applicants should possess good writing skills, work well under deadline, and communicate well with the public. Successful candidates must also have a strong interest in local sports and be capable of handling multiple tasks at one time. The News-Argus covers a wide range of sports activities, ranging from school sports to racing, rodeo and more.

Newspaper experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Photography skills are also a plus. This is an excellent opportunity for a new reporter or a seasoned veteran.

Compensation package includes hourly wage, paid vacation, paid sick leave, health insurance, health savings account.

Have been through Lewistown multiple times. Very rural. A couple hours from Billings (biggest city in MT). Great Falls is about 20 miles closer, but half the size.
