The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus (based in Howell) is a 6-day/week morning newspaper. We are looking for a talented, experienced sports reporter.

    Requirements

Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of newspaper sportswriting experience, and can consistently produce quality work on deadline for a morning paper. Experience in page design is a must, since our sports writers also lay out pages. So, the ideal candidate will be able to design and paginate pages. He/she will also bring a positive approach to work, meet commitments, be flexible and willing to adapt methods as needed and will contribute to the success of our organization. Our website is www.livingstondaily.com

This is a great area, only about an hour from Detroit, and a half hour from both Lansing and Ann Arbor. It's a big area for Michigan faithful.

Been awhile since I've seen the paper, but I remember it as being very good. Did not realize it was Gannett

And, if Tim Robinson is still there, he's good people.

Gannett bought Hometown Newspapers about 10 years ago.

Pretty sure Robinson is still there. Agree with KJIM. He's a good person to work for.

There is some coverage of Michigan and Michigan State, although Robinson does most of the Michigan stuff.

Used to work with Brian... great guy. Glad to see he's not leaving, although someone will snap him up soon (if he wants to go)

Just to be aware for a non-white candidate...Howell is home of the Michigan KKK. My buddy grew up there and got out as soon as he could since it's such a racist area.

At one time, the leader of the Michigan KKK lived there. This was a number of years ago. Not so anymore.

I can't remember where the new head lives (maybe Owosso or Newaygo, but not even sure on those). Anyway, the town has been developed quite a bit in recent years.
