Other notable sports in this coastal community are fishing tournaments and road races (running). Knowledge of photography a plus, taking photos required, will train as needed. Opportunity to write a weekly column, which can extend beyond community to state, regional and national, collegiate and pro. Social media savvy a big plus. May work from home except press days on Wednesday and Friday mornings and some Saturdays (for a Sunday issue). Send resume, clips to dennis@thenewstimes.com and dthomason@ec.rr.com. May also mail to: Dennis Thomason, sports editor; Carteret County News-Times; 4206 Bridges St. Ext., Morehead City, N.C. 28557. No phone calls please.
