Looking for someone to help round out our sports team. Along with the things mentioned in the ad below, we also have a PGA Tour event that comes through town each November, other amateur and pro golf tournaments and an NAIA college that has some quality teams for that level.

This is definitely a good stepping-stone job. Our last three sports reporters have gone on to bigger endeavors in our business. Of course if you want to stay, you can do that too. I've been here since 2009 and served as a sports reporter, news editor, city editor and now sports editor.

Ad: The Brunswick News is seeking an energetic and experienced sports reporter to cover high school, college and various other Coastal Georgia sports. The applicant should have a college degree, preferably in journalism. The ideal candidate is proficient in Adobe InDesign and is a strong writer and copy editor. Photography experience is a plus.
Candidates need strong interpersonal and relationship skills to develop rapport with coaches and players and needs to understand everything from football to high school volleyball.
The Brunswick News is an award-winning, family-owned newspaper on the Georgia coast that covers all of Glynn County. Situated in a beach community, Brunswick and St. Simons Island offer stellar quality of life opportunities. We want a reporter who is ready to become part of the community.
    Evening hours are required.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive benefits package including a 401K, insurance and vacation time.
Interested applicants should send resumes to Michael Hall, managing editor, at mhall@thebrunswicknews.com.
