The Kennebec Journal newspaper of Augusta, Maine, seeks a self-motivated, accomplished reporter to join an award-winning sports staff. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to report with balance, accuracy and speed while using current technology — including digital and social media platforms — in order to inform, enlighten and entertain our readers. It’s essential that the successful candidate have excellent writing skills; a strong passion for sports and athletic topics; is persistent in the face of rejection; does well under intense deadline pressure; and has demonstrated acumen with technology, web and social media. Page design experience is preferred. A college degree or equivalent experience is required, as is a minimum of one year of reporting experience at a daily newspaper.
