    Sports multimedia journalist KDH news is seeking a skilled sports writer/photographer to join our award-winning team at the Killeen (Texas) Daily Herald. You will be responsible for reporting and shooting high school sports, youth teams and adult recreational sports and for managing the sports web page and social media accounts. Writing skills are essential, as is deadline performance. Some of the coverage, such as high school football, will be written and produced on a tight, night deadline. Other writing and visuals will tell in-depth stories. The right candidate thrives on deadline, possesses strong communication skills and has a knowledge of shooting and editing video content. Strong social media skills are a must, along with the ability to understand the X’s and O’s of all the major sports. We’re seeking someone with a positive attitude and the desire to cover sports. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Shooting, editing and reporting in a fast paced environment Maintaining a good working knowledge of the teams in our area. Producing sports-related content and having a strong set of time management and organizational skills to see the production through. Managing the KDH Pressbox site and social media. Experience with live shots and breaking news coverage is a plus. Social media and web skills are essential. A degree in journalism or a related field and one year of experience is required. The sports editor also will work with local schools and contribute story ideas to the newsroom’s editing team, promote our sports coverage and produce an annual football preview.
