Sports Journalists wanted Philadelphia Region

TriState Media and Independence Sports Magazine is currently looking to add Sports Journalist interns to our team. Due to recent expansion we are looking for individuals interested in writing about sports to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

Creating and writing engaging articles highlighting and recapping sports games and events in which we have a photographer at covering.
All written article will accompany a feature photo gallery of the game and will be published on our online website as well as possibly in our monthly print magazine.
Ability to meet deadlines and have articles sent in a reasonable amount of time following each event.
Ability to write on a variety of topics as well as speciality articles we may require.
Ability to create articles from 300-500 words in length that hold a reader’s attention throughout the entirety.
Ability to communicate closely with our Managing Editor on stories needed and deadlines.

Topics to write about may include any of the following:
Baseball, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Ultimate Disc, Rugby, Mud Runs, Regattas, Lacrosse, Auto Racing and more. (If you are interested in writing on only a specific amount of topics, please let us know when contacting us.)

Compensation:

At this time, all Writer positions are NON-PAID. Great for any Sports Journalists students looking to gain real experience while writing for one of the top sports media outlets in the region.

We are looking to add someone who will be able to provide at least a (1) year internship at this time.

Again with another "oh it looks good on your resume but no pay" site? Don't we have enough of these already. Title should at least be honest and say one year intern wanted in Philly region. You're basically wanting someone to give you a free year of articles....idk anyone who would want that.

 

The Rugby and Ultimate Disc beat may compensate for the lack of compensation.

 

If they're not paying their writers, then teams shouldn't credential them. Otherwise, credentials are open to any and every person with a laptop.
