Not necessarily the best photos, but my sports memories growing up. At least the ones that immediately came to mind.
Great sports image. Huge moment in US soccer, great emotion...

Grew up in Chicago. I was hoping for a shot of the crossover at the top of the key, but this is the first image i saw:

    an earlier Bulls moment:

Go Go Go Chicago White Sox. I went to a bunch of games that summer, and drank an Old Style to celebrate the title, then went back to studying for a test.

One of my most memorable nights of college. MU 41, NU 24

It all went downhill after this...

I've never seen that above-the-rim shot. Great photo.

From the AFC championship game, when the Steelers rolled Denver at Mile High. This was basically the moment when I finally believed the Steelers would win the Super Bowl, which meant a lot, given that I was too young to remember the first four Super Bowl victories. Our SE used this photo to ancher the front page.

From the infamous YouTube clip. Basically, this is how I think of Mangino.

Obviously, I didn't see play. But this is a classic photo of the KU legend. It was either this or the photo of him standing at midcourt, in his old letterman's jacket that still fit perfect, to get his jersey retired my final year in college. He died about a year after that. The fact that he gave a three-minute one-on-one to any member of the media who wanted one after did an hour-long press conference -- even for a college kid like me -- still floors me.

Voted worst moment in Dallas sports history (before the Mavs gacked not once but twice, of course):
