I don't follow. His mom is a bigger turd than Lanny? Seems impossible, but I am interested to learn more.

His mom was the one peddling snake oil cancer cures.

I had completely forgotten about Lanny and was entirely focused on the ionized water. Lanny is far worse.

There were five Sports Illustrated layoffs yesterday, including Seth Davis.

Given how slim the offerings have been when they actually get around to publishing an issue, they could transition more than a few of their senior writers to contributors, given how infrequently some staffers (like Davis) actually appear in the magazine.

ESPN and now SI have made pretty bold statements that college basketball is irrelevant to them.

    Great point.

It's a hard sport to cover these days. Teams change so much year to year.

It's boring as shit, too, just like the NBA.

College hoops is tough. Most people don't tune in until February, you learn the names of the one-year-wonders, March Madness then done. It has a two month window.

When your sport's biggest star is currently a loud-mouth father, that probably isn't a great sign.

That is a matter of individual taste. What is objectively true is that it is a sport without on-the-court stars. The coaches are the stars and I don't find watching John Caliperi, et. al. particularly compelling.
