The Sheridan Press, Sheridan, Wyo., is seeking an energetic, organized and knowledgeable sports editor for its 6,700 circulation afternoon newspaper published Monday through Saturday. The editor will cover a variety of sports including junior college basketball and volleyball, boys' and girls' sports at five area high schools, and professional and amateur rodeo and polo in the summertime. Talent in writing, photography, pagination and layout is required. The Press is a privately owned corporation. The Press offers a competitive salary, benefits and a profit-sharing plan — and Wyoming has no state income tax. Sheridan, located in north-central Wyoming, provides stunning, panoramic views of the Big Horn Mountains and offers myriad outdoor activities. If you want to join an energetic and professional staff on an award- winning newspaper in a thriving community, send resume and work samples to Tom Cotton, news editor, P.O. Box 2006, Sheridan, WY 82801, or e-mail: tom@thesheridanpress.com.

Prep coverage and a local junior college in the area. Cost of living is pretty low. Someone just getting started who likes the mountains might find this a good fit.

Stayed at a motel in Sheridan during a road trip a couple years back. Seemed like a nice little place.

That part of Wyoming is not affordable. You'll find it tough to get an apartment for less than $600 a month.

This is a great job for a young, single guy who likes cold weather. I'm 0-for-3 on that one.
