Do you want to be part of a winning team? The Daily Citizen, an award-winning 5-day, 5,000 circulation daily newspaper in central Arkansas, is seeking a talented, ambitious and hard-working individual to lead our sports coverage.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic who realizes that good sports coverage goes far beyond the final score. Job duties include coming up with good story ideas and writing captivating sports content and utilizing strong photo skills. A positive attitude and attention to detail are a must. Strong photography, Photoshop and social networking skills are required. The Citizen covers nine local high schools and one Division II university.

Last year, The Citizen won 50 state awards, including General Excellence and Sweepstakes by the Associated Press and Arkansas Press Association. We are seeking a candidate who will build on that success and is hungry to make his or her mark in the community and in our sports coverage.

Searcy is a friendly, growing community of nearly 25,000 residents who take their sports seriously. It is located about 45 minutes north of Little Rock and two hours west of Memphis on the edge of the Ozarks. The Citizen offers competitive salary and benefit packages.
