North Platte was a significant Old West town (and a home of Wild Bill).

    Also significant during WW2.

I can, but I'm from Kansas, so I should know.

Seeing as to how you report on UCLA, can you name which Hollywood actress was born in Omaha and played on the University of Nebraska soccer team before transferring to UCLA (where she didn't play soccer)?

  4. Gabrielle Union???

I think Grand Island, Neb., was site of some huge tornadoes in the 1980s.

That it was. Seven hit in one night ... three of them spun the wrong way, IIRC.

  9. I knew she played soccer. Just guessed that she was from Nebraska. Isn't the CSI chick from Nebraska, too?

I knew the Gabrielle Union answer, just hadn't gotten back to this site early enough today. Heard her talk about it on a late-night show a few months ago. But it would have been surprising that I knew it since soccer doesn't matter.
