    I was just reading that they have football season right around the corner. And, ULL opens against LSU. Not bad for a first day on the job as an SE.

    Dan Itel, a reporter with The Statesman Journal in Salem, Ore., is the new editor in Lafayette.

    Gannett is a strange animal. One day they don't want to pay to hire someone far away, the next day they do. One day they insist on editor experience, the next day they get a reporter. Grab your resume and roll the dice with these people, then get ready for all their way-out-there ideas.

    yeah, but this guy was an editor i believe. don't know him personaly, but found some good stuff online. However, i believe they brought in a couple of other candidates before reposting the ad. but i could be wrong.

    he was actually a writer. a preps writer.
