The Columbus Telegram in Columbus, Neb., is seeking a sports editor with page design skills. We focus heavily on local sports in our M-F p.m. and Sunday a.m., 10,000 circulation newspaper. This position will be open in late July.

The succesful candidate will be a well-organized, self-starter who is broadly versed in all areas of prep sports coverage. On the page-design side, you will need Quark Xpress and Photoshop proficiency. A degree in journalism is desirable but not mandatory. Experience in a similar position could be substituted.

Apply by e-mail to jim.dean@lee.net or call Jim Dean, managing editor, at 402.563.7502. Regional candidates preferred. A post-hire, pre-employment drug test is required.
