The sports editor for the paper in Dickinson, N.D., has been charged with human trafficking. Facing 20 years.

Innocent until proven guilty and all that, but... I actually had a class with this guy back in my college days. Quiet dude; never would have expected him to be charged with something like this. Yikes.

Is it something in the water? First the TV guy cursing, now this.

Sounds from the story like he was trying to import a mail-order bride. Even they don't want to live in North Dakota, apparently.

  5. The Dickinson Press didn't use the jail's mugshot photo.

I had a few classes with him, too, and he was always extremely nice. Quiet, like you said, but in the few times I got him to open up, he never struck me as a human trafficker.

  7. You can tell few people in Dickinson visit the newspaper's website as comments were left on for the story and no one has commented as of yet.

What kind of name is "Abplanalp?"

Very Dickensian, or Dickinsonian in this case, I guess.

Deadspin comments usually suck, but this one was absolute gold:

    "A man. A plan. A lap. Plan B. Abplanalp."
