    JOB SUMMARY:

    We are seeking ambitious and motivated journalists for full-time editorial positions on Perform's Global U.S. Newsdesk.

    ROLE:

    Manage day-to-day operations of news desk. (Deputy Editor position)
    Establish editorial best practices. (Deputy Editor position)
    Help shape year-round domestic and global coverage plan. (Deputy Editor position)
    Edit and post news articles optimized for mobile and search.
    Communicate with domestic editorial operation and global news desk.
    Integrate digital story-telling tools such as video into news coverage.
    Identify news angles within game coverage that reflect editorial mission.
    Leverage emerging technologies for maximum efficiency in newsroom operations.
    Successfully master multiple digital content managements systems.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    The successful individual in this position needs the following:

    Minimum of five years managerial experience for a professional digital news organization. (Deputy Editor)
    Be a highly organized leader, independent thinker and experienced manager. (Deputy Editor position)
    Work smart and fast in an autonomous newsroom environment.
    One to three years for a professional sports news organization.
    Work smart and fast in an autonomous newsroom environment.
    Be digital natives with experience in online publishing.
    Look past daily challenges to identify solutions and bring new ideas to the group.
    Understand what does (and does not) resonate among sports fans.
    Be open to working days/nights, weekdays/weekends out of our Charlotte, N.C., office.
    Have strong grammar skills and a firm grasp of AP Style.
    Have strong knowledge of all U.S. and international sports.
    Identify social trends and write posts and headlines aimed at socially inclined audiences.
    Have a comfort level with digesting data analytics, driving insights and adapting on the fly.
    Possess the ability to recognize and deliver alert-worth content.
