The Northwest Herald, a 37,000 circulation newspaper in suburban Chicago, is seeking a sports copy editor for its daily newspaper and award-winning Web sites. The Northwest Herald Sports section has been named top 10 daily and Sunday in its circulation division for 10 consecutive years by the Associated Press Sports Editors.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to toggle between print and Web responsibilities. An eye for design and the ability to make stories better are a must. Understanding the future of sports journalism and digital media's role in it also are a high priorities.

The hours for this position call for night and weekend availability. Some news responsibilities also are part of the position, as it is part of a universal copy desk.

Candidates should have a college degree in journalism or related field and previous experience in copy editing and page design.

If this sounds like you, send us a cover letter, resume and design/editing examples to nwhsports@gmail.com. Please no phone calls.
