boots, how do you know Larry? Or are you just padding the posts?

I will chime in on this opening, since I'm very familiar with the paper and area. This is a really good gig with pretty decent pay, from what I gather. I won't go as far as Colton and say this paper is "quality," however. For a paper its size, it could certainly be a lot better. For what it's worth, it appears the new SE has taken steps in righting the ship.
A tip for the person who takes the job: They rely heavily on stringers, so prepare yourself for a steady diet of stringer copy. The Call ties up most of its full-time writers with pro and college beats (they have regular beats writers for all four Philly pro teams, Penn State and the local colleges, Lehigh and Lafayette), and a good portion of their prep coverage is freelance.

Groller takes much offense to that comment Dufresne.

Perhaps, but it's hard to keep a good man down.

Sadly yes and he's still writing bad Eagles columns.

Andy, I don't know who you are but I've known Larry since about 1984. Is that long enough for you?
Why couldn’t you have posted your limited knowledge of the paper WITHOUT the reference to me?
Try it the next time. You might like it.

Isn't odd the person responding this ad would talk to the copy desk chief and not SE or is that how they work it at bigger papers?

Competed against Gordie on occasion in Lancaster. Nice guy.

Presuming this is not a universal desk, yes.

And Allentown ain't that much "bigger." They barely were 100k last I checked.

Wow, someone is a little touchy!
Actually, I was just kidding about padding posts because it seems like you post something on every job opening. And, FYI, my knowledge of this paper is quite extensive.
    Thanks for playing.
