The Washington Post is looking for an experienced editor who will work closely in guiding our breaking news desk in Sports. This desk jumps quickly on major breaking news events and looks for original digital enterprise opportunities. The position involves conceptualizing and editing stories across the spectrum in sports, from national enterprise and sports analytics to local professional and college teams.

The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for a good story, sound news judgment, the ability to move quickly and to juggle multiple stories during the day. While traditional editing skills are a must, the ideal candidate will also understand the rhythms of digital journalism and be able to unearth under-reported stories and trends through search and social media channels. Weekend and some night work is required.
