    Did Herzog make the Templeton/Smith deal? IIRC at the time Templeton was considered the far superior player.

    I recall they made a poster of Garry Templeton's one finger salute. It said something like for all you do, this one's for you. It was classic.

    Herzog was the guy who pulled Templeton off the field when that happened
