That's the best they could come up with?

 

If they wanted to go the singular noun route they should've gone with the OK City Oklahoma!
Or gone the completely tasteless route and name em the Oklahoma City Bombers.
Or combine names, call em the soonersonics.

I, too, have been waiting for our Chamber of Commerce intern to chime in.

 

That's a bush league name. They can come up with something better than that. And then they wonder why they are known as a minor league city.

Maybe they can nod to the state's pro sports fast and call them the Oklahoma City Roughnecks and have Ron Futcher do the honorary opening tap.

That name is superstupid. They'd be better off as the only team in pro sports with no nickname. OKC only has one pro team, it's not like people would get confused when you referred to 'Oklahoma City' when talking about sports.

 

I sense a lot of AC/DC's Thunderstruck being played in Oklahoma City ...

 

All that trouble to get a team and this is the best they can come up with? Might as well called them the Cowtowners and got it over with.
