    Again with Wisconsin ...

MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — Police say a bear bit off a woman's fingers at a Wisconsin zoo after she ignored barriers and warning signs to try to feed the animal.
The Lincoln Park Zoo in Manitowoc closed after the incident Friday morning. Police say the 47-year-old woman lost a thumb and a forefinger, and two other fingers were partially severed.
The woman's boyfriend was bitten as he tried to pry the bear's mouth off her hand, but he didn't lose any fingers. Her 3-year-old granddaughter wasn't injured.
A mayor's office statement says alcohol played a factor.
It's unclear which of two Asiatic black bears bit the women when she put her hand through their enclosure's fence. Police tell the Herald Times Reporter the bears likely won't be euthanized.
Manitowoc is about 80 miles north of Milwaukee.

    Was the bear drunk?

Whoever might've thought the bears would or should be euthanized needs a brain transplant. If anyone should be euthanized in this incident, it's the idiot that jumped barriers to stick her hand through a fence of a bear enclosure.

Let's see. Grandma takes her boyfriend and granddaughter to the zoo and liquors up. Drunken grandma with 3-year-old girl around wild animals. Sounds like it could have been a lot worse.

Stupidity is also a Canadian problem.
This from earlier this year . . .

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after sneaking into the Calgary Zoo overnight, scaling two fences and being injured by a tiger.
Two men, both aged 27, jumped a 2.4-metre-high barbed wire fence at about 1 a.m. Monday to enter the zoo.
One of the men then scaled the outer perimeter safety fence around the tiger enclosure, which is just over a metre high. He didn't enter the tiger exhibit, but approached the inside fence where a two-year-old male Siberian tiger was roaming, zoo officials said Monday.
The tiger, named Vitali, may have hooked the man with a claw and pulled an arm inside the fence, said a zoo veterinarian. The second man, who came to his aid, was also hurt.
The men knew a security guard who worked at the zoo and called her on her cellphone for help.
Security personnel took the men to a zoo office where they were both given emergency first aid until medical services arrived. The seriously hurt man was then taken to the Foothills hospital.
