And how many condoms did they pack? (You don't want to be having a kid on day 240 of a 1,000-day journey if you didn't pack baby clothes, too.)

He's a veteran of long-distance sailing voyages in all kinds of weather. She's never sailed outside the Hudson River. But together, 55-year-old Reid Stowe and his 23-year-old girlfriend, Soanya Ahmad, embarked Saturday on a voyage that they intend to take them three times around the globe and last 1,000 days and nights _ nonstop, with no port calls for supplies or a walk on solid ground.

They set sail Saturday afternoon aboard his 70-foot, two-masted schooner, named the Schooner Anne, from a Hudson River marina in North Hoboken, in bright sunshine and temperatures in the 70s.

Oddly enough, the #2 Google result for the captain's name is his wedding announcement from 1999 -- guess things didn't work out! The woman he married then was a 26-year-old French woman. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C0DE3DF1739F935A35755C0A96F958260

    The ultimate in narcissistic self-indulgence.

Proves nothing, accomplishes nothing whatsoever for anybody.

To all the idiots who donated even a nickel, I hope there are no food banks or homeless shelters in your town.
