Sitcom husbands outkicking their coverage is a situation-comedy staple. King of Queens proves that, for all time.

In her blood, since her dad was a second baseman for the Cards.

    As does "According to Jim."

Just to tie King of Queens and Who's The Boss? together: Leah Remini was Samantha's college friend.

    As you were.

Could it be that it was a Sunday game and the Giants were the Monday nighter (or vice versa)? :D

And no sitcom dad outkicked his coverage more than Jim Belushi in According to Jim.

    x. After salivating over the latest Readership Institute study, the brain trust at Ray’s rag decided to streamline their operation by utilizing wire stories instead of “wasting” staff writers on pro coverage. We’re already paying for the wire service, they say, and readers can’t tell the difference between wire stories and local copy anyway. The paper wants to expand its advertising base in east Jersey, and Ray was shifted to the high school field hockey beat so the paper can grow readership in Hoboken. Alas, Ray has his Sundays off and can watch football on the couch while he plots his escape from the newspaper industry.
