    Joe, you are so right about "executive" meaning someone who isn't in the trenches. It's sure that way at my shop.

    What the fuck does that even mean?

    I've sent a total of two resumes by mail in applying for 30-some jobs in the last few months. If you ain't e-mailing a PDF, yous behind da times.

    When our pay was cut (soon to be followed by non-newsroom layoff), they told us, "Our profit margin as dropped to 9 percent, so we have to make cuts."

    Exxon's profit margin isn't even that high.

    Wait a sec, you turned down a job working on the Star sports staff?

    The only way I would do that is if I worked at the Plain Dealer.
