I would say that Donna Lopiano & the Women's Sports Foundation don't consider the consequences unitended at all. Title IX has never been about equality to them.

And now we understand where your criticism of the issue comes from. How is wanting equality for the group they represent a bad thing?

Title IX was, is, a tremendous piece of legislation. It was designed primarily to address academic inequality but is also wound up revolutionizing women's athletics and that's a good thing. No one should dispute that and I certainly don't.

Wanting equality is a good thing too. But that's not the WSF's goal. Never has been, despite what they say.

Funny. The way you question their words makes me question your lip service to Title IX.

Did they do any painted-on model spreads for the Title IX issue?

Title IX started out good, but it went too far.

President Nixon signing Title IX bill.

Republicans have not been all bad for women's rights.

Asking this with zero sarcasm: Why are upper middle class white girls less worthy of athletics than poor/working-class minority boys?

There's something to be said for scholarships being distributed to athletes most in need, regardless of gender.

You should know by now that LTL likes to shade things to how he sees them and never looks at the whole picture.

For example he does not ask how many scholarships might have went to poor working class girls.

While he is asking maybe he should also ask how many
slow white RB's and CB's lost D 1 scholarships to minorities when the Civil Rights bill was passed.
