Dwight Yoakam does a lot of cool covers including two of his Elvis's greatest songs: "Little Sister" and "Suspicious Minds" (might be the best Elvis cover ever)

Honest to God, I had no idea Elvis did "Little Sister." I thought that was Dwight's.

Mine: "Shameless." Like Garth's version slightly more than Billy Joel's. But it's close.

"Girls Talk:" Elvis Costello, Dave Edmunds, Linda Ronstadt

"La Bamba:" Richie Valens, Los Lobos.

And I can't stand Manfred Mann's version of "Blinded by the Light."

I like Manfred Mann's covers of Bruce songs better than the originals. Nice reinterpretations

Anything Daryl Hall has done on his web show, Live From Daryl's House. He redoes his stuff from the Hall and Oates days with different people and it almost always sounds better.

Going back to the original post, there's another Clapton cover on the "Unplugged" album that I like — "Layla."
I know a lot of people considered it sacrilege and horrible, but I like it better than the original. It just works so well as a slowed-down blues song. The original is a rock classic, but the lyrics sound like a lot of angry screaming.

I might have posted this before, or I might have found it on here at some point, but here's a site that you can spend a lot of time on.

Boyz N The Hood -- NWA and Dynamite Hack. Silly, but clever.

You Really Got Me -- The Kinks and Van Halen
