I've always thought "Brick" by Ben Folds Five was a beautiful song.

I'll second "Falling Slowly" and "Ordinary People"

One that you posted on facebook a few months back. "Lived in Bars" by Cat Power:

The mention of "Brick" made me think of one of buckdub's favorites, Live, with "Lightning Crashes":

Jason Isbell, formerly of the Drive-by Truckers, writes some beautiful songs.

Here's one of them: God Damn Lonely Love

In the R&B category, the MTV Unplugged version of "This Woman's Work" by Maxwell is an incredible song.

Good call on Mazzy Star, too (I'd add Into Dust:
    ).

    I've got a couple:

    • Time To Say Goodbye, Sarah Brightman. I want it played at my funeral.

    • Wild Horses, The Sundays. Just absolutely haunting.

    • Borrowed Heaven, The Corrs. Live version's best.

    • Desire, Ryan Adams.

    • Gravity, John Mayer.

    • Try Whistling This, Neil Finn.

EDIT: Adding links, now that I'm able.
