I think they just might bite the bullet and give it to Federer. The guy's just been too dominant, even if the average sports fan doesn't care about him. No way Tagliabue gets it. Picking Federer might be boring, but Tags would be sleep-inducing. And did someone say John Chaney? The John Chaney who sent a thug into a game who ended up breaking a kids arm? The Chaney who threatened to kill John Calipari? I don't think so.

Joakim Noah - one of the best performances in Final Four history, surely deserves to be ahead of Ryan Howard and, at this point, Troy Smith

It can be only one person: Neifi Perez.

No way. I like the George Mason idea better, whoever brought them up.

Lance Armstrong, because he was robbed every year since 2002.

I'd say Federer. They've never really done the definitive Federer story, and the "selling magazines" argument, in a year like this, factors into the equation very little. They're not going to give it to Tiger Woods a third time in eight years. In 50 years, he's the only guy who has won it twice.

x = the exact spot where sosa and mcgwire injected themselves?

21, yes. But I quickly developed a masking agent, and hid it from public posting. Steroids: Can't take 'em, can't even make a cheap joke on SportsJournalists.com without messing up the picture.

    Here we go.

I hope these guys are being reconsidered!

awesome, if only Federer would have had not won so many majors over the past few years

Federer certainly would be worthy, but it took Lance four Tours to get it. Make him wait another year.

I really like Daemon's creative idea with the faux-mirror.

If that can't be it, I'll be a homer and say Troy Smith and Jim Tressel.
