Lee Jenkins leaves NYT for SI
Jim Trotter leaves San Diego Union Trib for SI
Damon Hack leaves NYT for SI

Guess there are a few job openings at newspapers around the country ...

You're probably right. Every time I look at the U-T I go "THIS is the paper that serves a city of over one million residents?"

Probably just burned my U-T bridge, but what the hell.

I hear Justin Blanchard will be taking over the Aztecks beat. Can anyone confirm?

SI? Quite a push for the war horse. Loss for the U-T if they don't have a non-Chargers NFL reporter in an NFL town.

Jenkins will be missed at the Times. I always enjoy his stuff.

So NYT loses Lee Jenkins, Damon Hack and Liz Robbins in short period of time. Something going on there or just greener pastures for all? Any word on NYT's next move?

  11. Heard from sources that Trotter won't be replaced...

Tough going for them, they've got great editors but tight pursestrings. For my money, Asst. SE Doug Williams is one of the business. Loss of Trotter and Graney to the R-J last year hurts bad, but Mark Zeigler is still great and they've got other talent...
