Shows or movies you can watch over and over and over...

Ok, you've seen the TV episode or movie 5 times, 9 times, a thousand times, but maybe it pops up on your TV as you're scrolling through the guide and suddenly the remote control goes dormant for the next two hours. Or you've got about 8 new movies to pick from, but nothing grabs your fancy so pop old reliable into the DVD.

I've got 3 that come to mind:

Seinfeld: Goes without saying. Seen every episode I don't know how many times, but can still sit there and watch again and again. Yes, I want to be your latex salesman.

Dumb and Dumber: Something that's grown on me, like a fungus perhaps, over the years. Found it amusing when it first came out, but now when it's on one of its many TBS runs, I'm there.

Ken Burns' The Civil War: Seen it many, many times, going back to the VHS tapes I made when it first came out. Fantastic storytelling, gripping pictures and little nuggets you might not get in the history books. Could probably sit down and watch all 9 hours virtually without moving.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 the movie, The Fifth Element, Office Space.

TV: The Big Bang Theory.

* Any Clint Eastwood spaghetti western (High Plains Drifter, Hang 'em High, A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider)

TV: The Simpsons (although the more recent seasons haven't been that good), Cheers, All in the Family.

Movies: Major League, Bull Durham, Naked Gun, Airplane, Rocky, Shawshank, Hoosiers, A Christmas Story, Karate Kid I and II.

 

Godfather I and II would apply for me as well. I think the last two Thanksgivings AMC has run them back to back, which can easily pull me away from a non descript football game.
