Should I count this as a triple-double?

A triple-double is a recognized statistical oddity, like hitting for the cycle or a Gordie Howe hat trick. Can't substitute other categories in those, either, just because it happens to fit the technical parameter. It's cutesy, but it's wrong.

I always thought that a triple-double required double figures in points, rebounds, and assists, but apparently you can substitute other categories. At least Duquesne thinks so, having credited a player for a triple-double in points, rebounds, and blocks in a game earlier this month.

I think we had this conversation, T2, no? I see why it can be other categories as long as they are positives.

I don't see why not... Other than points, there's nothing that says what stats are in a XXXX-double.

I've seen people credited with a double-double for rebounds and blocks.
