Should Boise State get a shot at a national title?

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Tom_Brinkman01, Jan 2, 2007.

  1. Hard to argue against 13-0 -- right?

No. Sorry, but only in a playoff.

I'm with FJ. BSU deserves a shot at a playoff.

Yes. Unequivocally. I would like to see the AP voters come through on this. We know the winner of the BCS title game is going to win a share. I'd love to see our brethren award Boise State the other half.

Don't forget - they beat Oregon State who beat USC who absolutely pounded both Notre Dame and Michigan.

Boise State deserves a share of this year's national championship.

Yes. They finished 13-0 in D-1 football. They were a Top 25 team all year long. They deserve a shot at the Sears Trophy.

Does this make the argument for a playoff stronger than it was before? I believe that it unquestionably does.

Agreed. And if Ohio State loses, then the Broncs definitely deserve some hardware.

Can you imagine the amount of hype that would surround BSU if this was a quarterfinal game in a playoff? A whole week of ESPN-fellating (well deserved). College football would just ride the wave to bigger and bigger payouts, but the old bowl coots have the NCAA by the gonads.

Edit: Boise State should get its name spelled correctly before they get a national title shot.

They stepped up and played huge ONCE.
Boise plays a Pac-10, Big Ten or SEC schedule and they're a .500 club. That gimmickry only lasts so long.
By the way, it's an awesome win. But as Bill Parcells would say, it's too early for the anointing oils.

I want an explanation of the question in the subject line of this thread. It has several possible interpretations.

And I agree 100 percent with java man.

Yes, absolutely. But BSU needed to play a much stronger schedule for a title.

I will say, that BSU deserves to be No. 2. Def higher than USC.

Hold on a minute. That USC team I saw this afternoon would definitely run over the Boise State team I saw tonight --- especially the way Boise played for most of the second half.
