Imagine how many jobs could have been saved if those head honchos, all of whom got where they were by kissing lots of ass, decided to drive rather than fly in that monstrosity. And the CEO went without his lack-of-performance bonus.

God, I hate these bastards. I and others who were run out the door could still have jobs if not for a few cuts in their precious luxuries. Why is our whole damned society so eaten up with the blight of corruption?

And the 99 percent of us who are hourly workers will do ... what? Carry torches and pitchforks to the mansions of board members and CEOs? Good luck not getting shot by security. Should we have sit ins? Sure, right until idiots out of college get hired in our place for a fraction of the money.

Sorry, folks, but this is the Kobayashi Maru: the no-win scenario. We're fucked. We'll lose everything we worked for, while the people we work for have the golden parachutes.

Well, when Great Depression II hits (and the way things are going on Wall St., it may yet happen), it'll be interesting to see how our society copes.

1HP will have 23 more empty desks in the newsroom. Big Dog didn't break it down by department, but there is at least one complete f-up in sports everybody would like to see gone.

If you're the sports editor, and you have a screw-up working for you ---- this is the time to fix it, that's for darn sure.

    Jorge, don't wait .....

Don't give in to pessimism, we're told by some douchebox with a golden parachute.

Nothing better than encouragement from higher-ups.

Stay the course. Don't give up. Look to the future -- until we decide to lay you off.
