This is just awful. I don't know who should receive a stiffer punishment, mother or father.

I'm gonna guess that prison time aside, the father will get the, um, stiff punishment fairly regularly.

Considering prison justice, a jail term might be a death sentence.

Parents who do or allow this shit to happen make me sick.

I wonder who ratted out the parents? Daughter? Friend? Neighbor?

Story says they confessed to the cops, but I somehow doubt that they drove to the police station with a guilty conscience one day.

Don't even need to read the story, the headline was enough for me.

Interesting that the AJC would decline to reveal the names of the parents/suspects. I don't disagree with the decision; I don't know that I've seen this before.
In theory, if you report that a man was arrested for raping his girlfriend, wouldn't reporting the suspect's name compromise the identity of the victim?

To a point, yes. But only to those who know the couple. In this case, assuming the daughter shares a last name, it's going to be a lot easier to put together. And child welfare is always going to outrank grown women's.

I noticed that they didn't even give the girl's age.
