Shannon Forde, Mets media relations, battling cancer

    Shannon (Dalton) Forde has worked in the Mets' media relations department for the last 18 years, so she's familiar to people on the baseball beat.

    She's 41, has two young kids, and is now waging a major fight against cancer. There's a fund-raising effort on her behalf next week, with a lot of Mets' players pitching in. Details here:
